Meeting with White House on 1/9/13 to Determine Possibilities

There is much to do. And there are millions of people already doing. But the reality is that we cannot meet the mandate to reduce emissions by a global 6%-8% per year unless we make it a national priority. And only the President can do that.
The reductions needed are not arbitrary. Dr James Hansen and other top climate scientists who understand what it will take to restore balance to our atmosphere have studied the science and established that nothing less than a 6-8% global reduction PER YEAR, starting this year must be accompanied by a massive reforestation effort. It's going to take change from every sector of society.
President Obama has said recently,
The Climate Summit linked with Satellite meetings nation-wide is this education opportunity. The Summit will be focused on solutions, from the household to the national level, and will be President Obama's opportunity to lead. We need to hear from him that the climate crisis is a national priority. We need to hear what he is planning to reduce emissions over the short term and the long term. We need a national Climate Recovery Plan and this is his opportunity to start working toward one.
Right now, we are gathering signatures to deliver personally to the President's office. If you haven't signed already, please sign. Please forward it to everyone you know. The White House needs to hear that all Americans, not just environmentalists, are deeply concerned about how the climate crisis affects our children's future.
Presidential Climate Summit Could Be President Obama's "Lincoln Moment" to Prioritize Solutions

My POV.

"We want our children to live in an America that isn't ... threatened by the destructive power of a warming planet."
